ROSEALYN E. SCUDERA, 96 WATERTOWN

Rosealyn E. Scudera, 96, formerly of Wealtha Avenue, passed away Wednesday, September 25, 2019 at Samaritan Medical Center, where she had been a patient for three days.

Mrs. Scudera was born January 5, 1923 in Harrisville, New York the daughter of Lee and Henrietta Hayes LaParr. She attended local schools.

On May 8, 1946 she married Sam S. Scudera in Burr’s Mills, NY now known as Burrville, NY. Rosealyn and Sam had celebrated their 73 wedding anniversary on May 8, 2019. Sam passed away on August 17, 2019.

Rosealyn was an avid hunter, hunting with her husband and son up until age 89, working in her flowers, fishing and enjoying their camp in Harrisville, NY. She was also a great baker and cook, her spaghetti sauce being her favorite among her family.

Rosealyn and Sam’s favorite dance was the Tennesee Waltz.

She is survived by her five children, Frances Pitcher, Watertown, Charlie (Marsha) Scudera, Copenhagen, Rosemary (Lonnie) Miller, Adams, Sam (Mary) Scudera, Clayton, Anne (Gary) Compo, Copenhagen, 14 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and two sisters, Helen Delong and Arletta Crane.

Four sisters, Eurith Metcalfe, Dorothy Hudson, Arlene Orvis and Cecilia Marriam and two brothers, Charles LaParr and Hilton LaParr all died before her.

A graveside service will be held at the convenience of the immediate family.
