Rosa G. Muglia, 77, formerly of Kieff Drive, passed away January 14, 2025, at Samaritan Keep Home surrounded by her family.
Rosa was born August 6, 1947, in Guardia Piemontese, Italy, the daughter of the late Luigi and Maria (Gonino) Guglielmetti. She and her family lived with her first cousins, aunt and uncle, the Roselli Family, both in Italy and in the United States. After moving to the United States as a young girl, she graduated from Immaculate Heart Central High School and Jefferson Community College with a degree in Business Administration. Rosa worked for Marine Midland Bank, and for over thirty years was employed with Sears and Roebuck Co., where she was the manager of the women’s department.
On November 25, 1972, she married Luigi Muglia at St. Anthony’s Church. Mr. Muglia died November 16, 2005.
Surviving are two sons, David of Watertown and Marc of Adams, three grandchildren, Gianna, Adriana and Elena, and their mother Charlene, a brother Frank Guglielmetti, Detroit, and several nieces, nephews and cousins in the United States and Italy. A sister-in-law, Lucy Guglielmetti, died in 2024.
Rosa loved her granddaughters so much and took immense pride in them and loved helping care for them. Rosa was a fun-loving person, who danced up a storm at weddings and parties, made us all laugh, and had some specialty dishes that no one could cook better than she did. She cared about everyone in her family and everyone she met. Her positive outlook, humor and love were an inspiration to her family and friends.
Rosa’s family would like to thank the 3rd floor staff at Samaritan Keep Home for all the care they gave to Rosa while she was there.
A funeral mass will be held Saturday, January 25, 2025 at Noon at St. Anthony’s Church. Burial will be in the spring in Glenwood Cemetery. Arrangements are with D.L. Calarco Funeral Home, Inc.
