Robert A. Fields, 76, Watertown, died December 6, 2023, at his home under the care of his family and Hospice of Jefferson County. 

Robert was born March 22, 1947, in Watertown, son of Ambrose G. and Evelyn J. (Wheeler) Fields. He graduated from Watertown High School in 1965 and enlisted in the United States Air Force retiring as a Tech Sergeant after 23 years of service.  While in the Air Force he was stationed in Lackland Air Force Base in England, Athens Greece, Brunssum Netherlands, Coco Beach FL and Griffiss Air Force Base in Rome NY. He received many metals, ribbons, awards and attended many hours of training for Non-commissioned Officer Leadership School and Air Force Supervisor Courses to name a few.

He married Kathryn Gaudette on September 11, 1971, while stationed in Canterbury CN. Robert was a member of the VFW Post #10688 in Canterbury.  After retirement, he returned to Watertown and worked a few jobs, but his career in the Air Force was what he was so proud of. He enjoyed the Watertown Model Rail Road Club and working Bingo at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church.

Surviving besides his wife are, a son, Anthony Fields, Washington State, a daughter, Stephanie Fields, Watertown, a brother, Joseph Fields, St. Petersburg, FL, a granddaughter, Alyxandera Tuten.  A brother, Donald Fields and a sister, Donna Fields, twins, died before him. 

Calling hours will be 3-5 PM Tuesday, December 12, 2023 at D.L. Calarco Funeral Home, Inc. followed by a funeral service at 5PM at the funeral Home. Burial will be in No. Watertown Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Jefferson County, 1398 Gotham Street, Watertown, NY 13601.
