Neil McCoy Obituary

Neil A. McCoy, 96, died September 8, 2025 at Samaritan Keep Home in Watertown, NY

Mr. McCoy was born January 5, 1929, in Watertown, a son on Francis and Dorothy (Bass) McCoy.  Mr. McCoy grew up in the Burrville community and attended IHA.

He married Frances Wilson on September 18, 1954, she died May 1986.  He later married Beverly King in April 1993 She died June 2011.  Mr. McCoy owned a dairy Farm in Macomb, NY for several years. He later was a truck driver. He worked for many years for Crowley’s, picking milk up from local farms. Later, he worked for various trucking companies in the area.  Mr. McCoy served with the USMC during the Korean Conflict and was a member of the VFW Post 6338 in Gouverneur, NY.  He enjoyed reading, gardening, mowing his lawn and visiting with his friends and family. He was a communicant of St. James Catholic Church in Gouverneur NY.

Mr. McCoy is survived by two daughters and a son in-law, Laurie (Eric) Williams, Greenville TN and Brenda Houghton, Lewis, NY, a brother Arthur, Rochester, NY and a sister Esther Serafine, Phoenix, AZ. Four grandchildren, Leslie, Brandon, Donna and Lisa. Numerous great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. Besides his wives, two brothers Francis and Paul, and three sisters, Joan Boring, Mary Joyner and Helen McWayne, and one grandson Christopher Williams, died before him.
