Meghan Elizabeth Rule, born April 12th, 1981, passed away peacefully at her
home under the compassionate and loving care of the ARC house staff and
Hospice of Jefferson County. Meghan is survived by her parents,
Jeff and Adrienne Rule, Watertown, her grandmother, Nancy L. Rule, a brother,
Brandon P. Rule (and Lindsey Oakes), all of Watertown, a sister, Chandra R. Hearn
(and James Hearn), Phoenix AZ, and an aunt, three uncles and nieces and nephews.
She is also survived by her family of housemates and the care staff of her group home.
Meghan was the first resident of the then, brand new Children's Care Group
Home under the auspices of the Jefferson Rehabilitation Center when it
opened on Gaffney Drive in June 1986. She attended early intervention programs at
JRC (now ARC), prior to going to Watertown City Schools and Day Habilitation at JRC.
Meghan loved being outdoors and out in the community and was happiest when
surrounded by people and activities. She enjoyed listening to music and
was quick to smile when she was particularly happy with the world. Her family is
forever grateful for Meghan's many caregivers and the compassionate staff of her group home,
and for everyone who helped Meghan be content and comfortable and to live her
best possible life.
An hour of calling will be held Tuesday beginning at 10 am at the D.L. Calarco Funeral Home, Inc. followed by a funeral service at 11 am with Reverend Leon Schilling officiating. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
