Kevin Ryan Murray 39
Kevin passed away peacefully after a three-year battle with brain cancer at Samaritan Medical Center Watertown with his family close by.
Kevin was born on May 12, 1986, at the House of the Good Samaritan, the son of J. Thomas Murray and Kathryn O'Driscoll Murray of Brownville. Kevin has survived by his wife, Andrea (McCabe) Murray, his daughter Iris Blake (9), his son Owen Weston (3). He is also survived by his sister Bridget, (Robert) Cully of Clifton Park, and a nephew (Johnny) and niece (Clare). His mother and father-in-law, Nancy and Dan McFadden, and a brother-in-law, Daniel McFadden, as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Kevin graduated in 2004 from General Brown High School, where he was a member of the National Honor Society, the French Club, and he played both JV and Varsity football for Coach Steve Fisher. He was a member of the 2003 Section III Class C Championship team that made it to the State Final Four.
In 2009, Kevin graduated from SUNY Potsdam with a BA in English Literature. He was employed as a Member Relationship Advisor and Underwriter for AmeriCU.
Kevin had an encyclopedic memory for sports, literature, and movies. He was a devoted fan at the NY Yankees, NY Giants and Notre Dame. Kevin was a voracious reader, reading as many as one hundred books a year. He could speak fluently in movie quotes. Kevin was also a talented musician. A classical trained percussionist, he performed in multiple local bands, including “Tennyson”, “Like Trainwrecks”, and “Nice People”.
There will be no services. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
