Edward C. Thomas

Edward C. Thomas, 89, Watertown died February 24, 2025 at Samaritan Medical Center with his family by his side. 

Mr. Thomas was born January 19, 1936 in Watertown a son of Ethel Thomas. He graduated from Immaculate Heart Academy in 1954. He married Joanne LaLonde on August 18, 1964. He was employed as a Watertown Fireman for thirty two years, retiring in 1997.  Mr. Thomas also worked at Max Alpert Inc. for twenty four years. Mr. Thomas was in the National Guard for thirteen years.  He was a communicant of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church where he was a Eucharistic Minister.  Mr. Thomas was a member of the Watertown Firefighters Association Local 191 IAFF, American Legion Post 916 in Antwerp, the Northside Improvement League, and the Watertown Elks Lodge 496.

Surviving besides his wife Joanne of 61 years are two daughters and a son in-law, Elizabeth Lynch, Antwerp, Mary Jo (Steven) Gamage, Watertown, two sons and their wives, John (Tammy) Mccready, Caledonia, NY, Scott (Patricia) Thomas, Watertown, a brother Robert (Janet) Thomas, Texas, twenty three grandchildren and many great grandchildren. Edward was predeceased by a son in-law Abel Lynch, a grandson William Brett and a great grandson Reid Rajner 

Calling hours will be Friday February 28, 2025 from 4 to 6 PM at D.L. Calarco Funeral Home, Inc. a funeral mass will be Saturday at 10AM at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church. A reception will follow the mass at Hilton Garden Inn, Watertown. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Condolence may be made at www.dlcalarco.com.
