Edward P. McKinney

Edward P. McKinney, 88, of Watertown, passed away February 1, 2024, at Samaritan Medical Center.

Mr. McKinney was born July 28, 1935, in Elmira, NY, son of E. Phillips and Martha (Fudge) McKinney. He graduated from Newfield High School and received a Forestry degree from Paul Smith’s College.  Mr. McKinney served in the United States Army and was honorably discharged in 1958.

On October 18, 1958, he married Rosemary (Grant) McKinney at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church with Reverend Benoit Dostie officiating. Mrs. McKinney pre-deceased her husband on January 20, 2014.

Mr. McKinney was a New York State Licensed Land Surveyor and a Certified Photogrammetrist, retiring from LaFave, White & McGivern LS PC. He was a lifelong outdoor enthusiast, an avid reader, student of history and loved spending time with his family and friends.

Surviving are two sons, Gregory (Lesley), Watertown, Gary (Joanne), Dexter, a daughter, Laura (Paul) Mikolaitis, Massachusetts, three grandchildren, Christopher (Dannii Trotter) McKinney, Dr. Colleen (Kyle Kucharski) McKinney, Taylor McKinney, a great grandson, Acacius, a brother, William (Yvonne) McKinney, Fair Oaks, CA, and several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be Wednesday from 4-7 pm at the D.L. Calarco Funeral Home, Inc. A funeral mass will be held Thursday at 10 am at St. Patrick’s Church. Burial will follow in Glenwood Cemetery.
