Donna A. Mathar

Donna A. Mathar, 74, of Carthage, NY, passed away November 29, 2024 at Guthrie Hospital in Corning, NY, with her family by her side.

Donna was born on February, 16, 1950 in Olean, NY, daughter of Perley and Pearl (Miller) Emery. She graduated from Cameron County High School in Emporium, PA. She married George Mathar at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church.

Donna was employed in sales with Sears and Robuck, Co. and as a receptionist at H&R Block in Watertown. She was a member of the Black River American Legion Auxiliary.

Surviving besides her husband are a daughter Jennifer (Carl), Corning, NY, a son Joseph, Carthage, NY, five grandchildren, Catherine (Dallas), Hayle, Caitlyn, Cole and Wyatt, three great grandchildren, Dalton, Niklaus and Landon, her siblings, Donald (Bonnie) Emery, Delia Ann Wheaton, Barbara Aikens, Caroll (David) Smith and Dolly Slusarick. Her siblings, Sam, Chester and Pearl all died before her.

Donna was a loving and caring wife, mother, daughter, grandmother and friend. She will be missed by all that knew her.

There will be no calling hours. A funeral mass will be held Wednesday, December 11, 2024 at 11 am at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery.
