Daphne R. Corbett

Daphne R. Corbett, 96, of Wyoming Avenue, passed away Wednesday, April 23, 2025, at her home surrounded by her family and under the care of Hospice of Jefferson County.

Mrs. Corbett was born April 3, 1929 in Brentwood Essex, England, a daughter of Frederick and Ruth (Payne) Pearce. Educated in England she came to the United States in 1948 to be with family in Three Mile Bay.

On September 3, 1949, she married Alden F. Corbett at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church with Rev. James Francoeur officiating. Mr. Corbett died May 4, 2012.

Mrs. Corbett was a dedicated home maker. For a short time, she was employed with Gibson Laundry on State Street. She enjoyed playing darts, bowling and knitting Mrs. Corbett was a great Mom, she was involved in PTA, field trips, baseball, Girl Scout Cookie Sales and the March of Dimes.

Surviving are; two daughters, Virginia (Gary) Avery, Baldwinsville, Dawn Burns, Copenhagen,  a son, Steven (Sharon) Corbett, Copenhagen, a brother, Ronald Pearce, Brentwood, England, five grandchildren, six great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

A son-in-law Ron Burns, three sisters, Ruby, Pamela and Pansey, all died before her.

Calling hours will be held Tuesday, April 29th from 4pm-6pm at the D.L. Calarco Funeral Home, Inc. A prayer service will be held Wednesday at 10:30 am at the funeral home followed by a funeral mass at 11:30 am at Holy Family Church. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery. Contributions may be made to Holy Family Church, 129 Winthrop Street, Watertown, NY or to Hospice of Jefferson County, 1398 Gotham Street, Watertown, NY 13601.
