Daniel J. Frezzo, Jr.

Daniel J. Frezzo, Jr. ,73, of Portage Street, passed away December 8, 2024 at Hospice of Jefferson County at the Ellis Farm, with his family and friends by his side.

Dan was born January 13, 1951, in Watertown, son of Daniel J. and Margaret C. (Barker) Frezzo, Sr. He graduated from Watertown High School in 1969 and attended Jefferson Community College. On September 18, 1971, he married Elyse A. Darrow at Asbury Methodist Church.

Dan was a Senior Sign Maintenance employee of Jefferson County until his retirement in 2007, after thirty-six years of service.

Dan was an avid sports fan; the New York Mets and Buffalo Bills were his favorite teams. In the 1980’s -1990’s Dan played softball on multiple local teams. One of his favorite memories included his Mercy Hospital team winning the City Championships. He also enjoyed coaching his brother’s Little League baseball team. Dan enjoyed listening to music and attending concerts. In the 1960’s he played with the band, Association of Sound. He created many memories and friendships: bowling, playing pool and motorcycling. Dan was also member of the local Sons of the American Legion, VFW Auxiliary and the Fraternal Order of the Eagles.

Surviving besides his wife are a daughter, Darcie F. (Ian) Ward, Sackets Harbor, two brothers, David J. Frezzo, Watertown, Scott M. (Rhonda) Frezzo, Sackets Harbor, a half-brother, Manuel (Carrie) McCarthy, Peru, NY, a granddaughter, Maeve B. Ward, Sackets Harbor, several nieces and nephews. Dan will be reunited with his best friend, Fred Bragger. “The Brazzo Brothers” will be cracking jokes and wishing for a Subway Series together once again.

There will be no calling hours or funeral at this time. A memorial service will be held in the summer of 2025. Contributions may be made to Hospice of Jefferson County, 1398 Gotham Street Road, Watertown, NY 13601.
