Celeste Ann LaLonde, Watertown, passed peacefully at the age of 64, on Friday, January 19th at Samaritan Medical Center surrounded by loved ones. Known and loved by all as “CeeCee,” this date will be celebrated in her honor as it was also her birthday.
Celeste was born on January 19th, 1960 to Carlton C. and Mary Katherine Ulmen Pike. She graduated early from Watertown High School in 1977 to pursue her cosmetology license.
Celeste married Timothy E. Lalonde on December 27th, 1997. Together, they blended families and embraced making memories with their four children.
CeeCee epitomized vibrance by energizing and captivating any room with her presence. She was known for “finding the silver lining” and the perfect soundtrack for every situation making her a cherished friend and confidante. She had a knack for creativity and could always be found creating something out of nothing. A popular and gifted stylist, “hairdresser” by passion, she built a fiercely loyal clientele, ultimately realizing her dream by owning her salon, "Masquerade." “Masquerade” became a personal and professional source of pride that she shared with colleagues, clients, and family alike. Balancing family and passion, she later opened an in-home salon. Here, all of her favorite people and things were under one roof. Of these favorites, her devotion to the Buffalo Bills was only rivaled by that of her family and friends.
Celeste is survived by her husband Timothy LaLonde, daughter Jordan M. (Derek) Flath, step-children Steven (Reyna) LaLonde, Travis (Erica) LaLonde, Brittany LaLonde, 13 grandchildren, and siblings, Deborah A. (John) Scanlon, Ann Marie (Fred) Lanham, Peter S. (Laurel W.) Pike, 5 nieces and 1 nephew.
Celeste was predeceased by her parents Carl and Mary, an infant sister Sue Ann, and brother John Pike.
Arrangements are with D.L. Calarco Funeral Home, Inc. There will be a funeral mass at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church Watertown on Wednesday, January 31st at 10:00am.
Contributions in Celeste’s name can be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
