Betty J. Shattuck, 89, formerly of St. Anthony’s Apartments, died July 9, 2025 at Samaritan Summit Village.
Betty was born on November 29, 1935, in Great Bend, NY, daughter of Joseph and Eva (Taylor) Jonas. She graduated from high school and attended the Watertown School of Commerce.
On September 27, 1958, she married Richard E. Shattuck at St. Francis Xavier Church in Redwood, NY with Reverend Emile LaLonde officiating. Mr. Shattuck died in 2001.
Betty was the bookkeeper for Pine Cleaners for many years. Later in life she was a cashier at Sears and Robuck Co.
Betty enjoyed Jig Saw Puzzles, Crossword Puzzles, Word Puzzles, knitting, cross-stitch and avid reader.
Surviving are her two daughters, Catherine S. (Carl) Egan, Chaumont, Mary B. (Dennis) Comins, Lowville, three grandchildren, Jacob A. Martin, Hannah R. Martin, Nicholas A. Martin, three sisters, Dorothy McIntyre, Syracuse, Marjorie (Almon) Mix, Great Bend, Virginia Jones, Rutland, several nieces and nephews. Her son, Andrew A. Shattuck died in 2000.
Calling hours will be held Monday, July 14th from 4-6pm at D.L. Calarco Funeral Home, Inc.
