Barbara J. McKeever, 78, Sackets Harbor, NY passed away on December 28, 2023 at Hospice of Jefferson County at Ellis Farm, Watertown, NY surrounded by her family.
Barbara was born on November 22, 1945, Watertown, NY to Arloine (Tracy) Bourgoin. In 1950, she was adopted by Howard L. and Pauline E. Stewart, Calcium, NY.
She graduated from Indian River High School, Philadelphia, NY in 1963 and attended the Watertown School of Commerce in 1964.
She married Donald D. McKeever on July 2, 1966 at St. Mary’s Church in Evans Mills, NY. They lived on the Elm Ridge Road in Evans Mills until 1978 when they moved to Sackets Harbor. Her husband Donald died in a work accident in Syracuse, NY in August 1983.
Barbara worked for over 30 years in real estate in and around Watertown. She also worked for the Village of Sackets Harbor as the Director of the Visitor Center for many years.
Barbara was a communicant and member of the Altar & Rosary Society, St. Andrew’s Church, Sackets Harbor. She was a member of the Jefferson-Lewis Board of Realtors and National Board of Realtors. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Post 1757, Sackets Harbor. For over 30 years, Barbara was a proud member of the Northern Blend Ladies Barbershop Chorus in Watertown.
She is survived by three sons, Jason McKeever (Stephanie), Stafford, VA, James McKeever (Kathleen), Sackets Harbor and Jaren McKeever (Cynthia), Alexandria, VA, half-brother James A. Richmire (Torri), Watertown, numerous brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, several nieces and nephews.
She was especially proud of her six grandchildren, Griffin, Payton, Katelynn, Christian, Marisa and Chloe.

There will be no calling hours. A funeral service will be on Friday, January 5, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at D.L. Calarco Funeral Home, Inc., Watertown. Spring burial will be at Sanford Corners, Calcium, NY.
