Tamara Hall Obituary

Tamara Hall, passed away on February 4, 2018 at 44 years old. Tamara lived at a Jefferson Rehabilitation Center (JRC) home in Chaumont for the last twenty four years where she enjoyed her life with her JRC family. Tamara had a great sense of humor, delightful, sassy, happy young woman and was known to joke with support staff. She enjoyed activities with children, especially when there is music and dancing involved. Tamara was playful and truly fun to be around. She liked to use nicknames with her friends. Tamara was very social and talkative when she wanted to be and she could get anyone she met to give her cookies or crackers. Throughout the years she had enjoyed dances, movies, going on trips, going out to eat, manicures and going to church on occasion. Tamara enjoyed participating in DPAO's special recreational events such as concerts, dinners, dances, and picnics. While at home she loved to watch scary movies and also musicals, she especially loved to watch Annie and Shirley Temple. Tamara would sing the Animal Crackers in my soup song from Shirley Temple to get crackers. Christmas was her favorite time of year, she liked to look at the lights and singing Christmas carols.
Tamara has many support systems in the community both locally and long distance. Tamara was reunited with her mother, Adriah Magdriel from Brooklyn. Tamara's Aunt Johnnene Gay, from Texas, previously had been an advocate in Tamara's life for several years. Tamara liked to FaceTime with her sister Priya Sweetenberg, from Georgia. Tamara enjoyed keeping in contact with her grandmother, Ellen Addison from Georgia, and Tamara's brother Antonio.
Tamara also attended JRC Day Habilitation program where she would participate in Meals on Wheels, going to the zoo and boat tours in Alexandria Bay. Her favorite outing was going for ice cream.
Tamara was fortunate to have several support staff working with her who have known her for several years and have provided amazing care for her. Tamara will always be loved and missed by her friends and family; especially at JRC.
Calling hours will be Friday from 4-5:30 pm at the D.L. Calarco Funeral Home, Inc. A funeral service will follow. Burial will be in the spring in Glenwood Cemetery.
