Patricia A. Gregor Wilder, age 93, peacefully passed away on June 16, 2019 at Pershing General Hospital and Nursing Home in Lovelock, Nevada with her daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Jeff Kines, at her side.
Born March 8, 1926 in Cape Vincent, NY, the daughter of Charles A. and Eleanor Peggs Gregor, she graduated as salutatorian from Cape Vincent High School in 1943 and the Watertown School of Commerce in 1944. She also attended Jefferson Community College.
She worked for Jefferson County for 30 years, retiring from the County Treasurers Office in 1991 as a Principal Account Clerk and notary public. During World War II, she was employed by the Jefferson County War Price and Rationing Board. Later, she was employed at the New York Telephone Company, and the Watertown office of the New York State Alcoholic Beverage Control Board.
She was an active volunteer and assumed leadership roles in local chapters of non-profit organizations such as SCORE, the United Way, AARP, CSEA Retirees, and the National Association of Accountants. She also volunteered for several local dance clubs including Greater Watertown Senior Dance Club, New Watertown Senior Dance Club, and the Black River Valley Fiddlers.
She married James A. Wilder, of Watertown, NY, in West Seneca, Erie County where he owned a contracting business in Buffalo. Mr. Wilder died in October 2001.
Surviving are her four children; Kathleen (Henry) LaClair, Clayton, NY; Kevin Wilder, Ocala, FL; Mark (Marlyne) Wilder, Fairview Heights, IL; Carol (Jeff) Kines, Ocala, FL and two step-children Patrick Wilder, Watertown, NY and Tanna Wilder, Statesville, NC, 11 grandchildren, and 18 great-grandchildren.
She is also survived by four sisters; Mary (Arthur) Rosecrans, Watertown, NY; Gertrude Eckert, Watertown, NY; Kathleen McCall, Barnwell, SC; Eleanor Martin, Syracuse, NY and many nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be Tuesday, June 25th from 4-7 pm at D.L. Calarco Funeral Home, Watertown, NY. The funeral service will be Wednesday at 11 am at the funeral home with Reverend Arthur LaBaff officiating. Burial will be in the family plot at Brookside Cemetery.
