Margaret Lea Kenney, 92, of Bayard Street, Sackets Harbor, passed away January 3, 2018 at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Diana and Don Woodhouse.
Mrs. Kenney was born July 18, 1925, in Canton, Ohio, daughter of William and Lea Bitter Kolm. She graduated from East Lake High School and received her RN from Altman School of Nursing, both in Canton, Ohio. In 1947, she married Harold J. Kenney at the First Lutheran Church in Canton, Ohio. Dr. Kenney died on December 1, 2016.
Mrs. Kenney was a registered nurse specializing in gerontology during her career. She was an avid reader, gardener and baker. She was noted for her famous Christmas Cookies and pies of all varieties.
Surviving are her children, a daughter, Diana (Don) Woodhouse, Sackets Harbor, sons, Harold Kenney, Jr., Gloucester. Massachusetts, Dan (Cindy Gilder) Kenney, Anchorage, Alaska, Rick Runge, Canton , Ohio, grandchildren Hanna and Sam, brothers Norman (Norma) Kolm and William Kolm, both of Canton, Ohio. A brother Robert Kolm predeceased her. Several nieces and nephews are also fondly remembered.
Services will be in the spring, her favorite time of the year. The family thanks her many caregivers for their loving care and dedication, and the hospice staff for their support and compassion.
