Joseph A. Geno

Joseph A. Geno, 90, Watertown died April 3, 2018 at his home under the care of his family and Hospice of Jefferson County.

Mr. Geno was born August 18, 1927, in Watertown a son of William and Jennie Piscottia Geno. Mr. Geno attended Watertown High School and received his GED from BOCES. Mr. Geno married Dorothy Gracia September 11, 1947, at Holy Family Church with Monsignor William Farrell officiating.  He was employed as a stock clerk for Smith Eveleigh Motors and the Firestone Company before becoming an experimental machinist at the New York Air Brake.  He retired in 1995, after forty eight years of service.

Mr. Geno was a member of the NRA, Watertown Rifle and Pistol Club as well as the secretary and treasurer, and Sacket Harbor Sportsman Club.  Mr. Geno did competitive shooting in the National Trophy League shooting 22’s, 38’s and 45’s and attended NTL matches in Camp Perry, OH.  Mr. Geno also raised and showed Siamese cats and loved to travel; going to all seven continents.

Surviving besides his wife, is a sister Josephine Waltz, Memphis, TN, his caring neighbors Rob, Ann, Haley, Caleb and Hannah Snell,  his loving dog Marcee, several nieces and nephews. Three sisters died before him.
