Dominic Doldo Obituary

Dominic A. "Mego" Doldo, 79, of Watertown, passed away February 14, 2018 at Samaritan Medical Center surrounded by his family.

Mego was born July 7, 1938, in Watertown, a son of John J. and Josephine Coppola Doldo, Sr. In 1956, Mego graduated from Watertown High School and in 1960 from Canton ATC. On June 20, 1970 he married Donna J Loveland at St. Anthony's Church with Rev. Joseph Conti officiating. He was a member of the United States Army Reserve. Mego was a manager for J. C. Penny Co. in Burlington, VT. After moving back to Watertown he and his brother Richie owned and operated Doldo Bros. Construction. From 2004 until 2016 he was the steward for the Italian American Civic Association.

Mego was a communicant of St. Anthony's Church and a member of the American Legion. He was a member and three time past president of the Italian American Civic Association.

Surviving besides his wife are two sons, Joseph L. (Dianthe), Bedford, NH, their children; Alexandra, Tyler and Brady, Dominic R. (Stacy), Watertown, NY, their children; Alexander, Giavanna and Georgiana, three brothers, John J. Jr. (Patty), Richard (Lisa), Patsy, all of Watertown, a sister-in-law Josephine Doldo, Watertown, several nieces and nephews. A sister Connie Romeo, two brothers Joseph and Anthony "Tiny", and two sisters-in-law, Ellen Doldo and Jean Doldo, all died before him.

There will be no public calling hours. Arrangements are with the D.L. Calarco Funeral Home, Inc. A funeral mass will be held on Saturday at 11 am at St. Anthony's Church with Msgr. Robert Aucoin officiating. Burial will be in the spring in Glenwood Cemetery. Contributions may be made to St. Anthony's Church 850 Arsenal Street, Watertown, the Sisters of the Precious Blood Monastery, 400 Pratt Street, Watertown, or to the Italian American Civic Association, 192 Bellew Ave., Watertown, NY 13601.
