Mary R. Bulger, 83, of Hamlin Street, passed away August 5, 2017 at the Samaritan Keep Home.

Mrs. Bulger was born October 11, 1933 in Malone, NY,  daughter of Roy and Shirley LaFayette LaFave. She graduated from Franklin Academy in Malone and from the Rochester Business Institute with a certification in Laboratory Technology.

On May 26, 1956 she married Frederick L. Bulger at Notre Dame Church in Malone, NY with Reverend Martin officiating.

Mrs. Bulger was a laboratory technician for Canton Hospital, Mercy Hospital and Gouveneur Hospital. From 1970 until 1985 she was employed with Dr. Ronson and from 1985 until her retirement in 2012, at the age of 78, she was employed with Dr. Khan. Mrs. Bulger was a communicant of Holy Family Church. She was an avid reader, enjoyed her cottage and the Christmas holiday.

Surviving are her three sons, Michael (Marcia), Watertown, John (Vicki), Watertown, Steven, NYC, a daughter Susan (Michael) Erdner, Adams, eight grandchildren, Brian Erdner, Nicole (David) Southcott, Tara (Brenden) Reeves, Sara (Max) DelSignore, Michael Bulger, Lauren Bulger, Mason Bulger and Marley Bulger, six great grandchildren.

Calling hours will be Tuesday from 4-7pm at the D.L. Calarco Funeral Home, Inc. A prayer service will be held Wednesday at 11:15 am at the funeral home followed by a noon funeral mass at Holy Family Church with Reverend Steven Murray officiating. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery. Contributions may be made to Hospice of Jefferson County, 1398 Gotham St., Watertown, NY 13601. Condolences may be made to www.dlcalarco.com.

We first met Mary when we switched to Dr. Kahn’s practice.  Over the years we had many enjoyable conversations and yes, we always talked about the Christmas shopping at that time of the year.  She loved her family deeply and we are so sorry for your loss.  Blessings to you all.
