Our thoughts and condolences to the Parsell family.  I first met Joyce when she and Jack presented a program on hiking in the Adirondack Mountains for the Lewis County Historical Society many years ago. Her smile was so welcoming. I later had the opportunity to meet them again when my husband joined Ski Patrol.
She was such a sweet person and her love of family was apparent.
She will be missed by many.

Joyce was such a dear, dear friend and a surrogate family member in many ways. We are so very sorry that we will not be able to attend either of her memorial services. We will be thinking of you all on Thursday with love and with many sweet memories of dear Joyce. We know that she and Jack are walking together, hand and hand in paradise, both with their wonderful “light up the room” smiles. The love you gave us all while you were here lives on in our hearts.

John Parsell (Uncle Jack) was my dad’s brother. My family and I were “city” folk, moving frequently throughout my childhood. But we visited Jack and Joyce, in Beaver Falls, frequently.  And it was always special to me and my sister.  To us, they lived on a farm.  Crops growing in the backyard.  A little creek just beyond that.  And an actual river at the back. Aunt Joyce always made wonderful pies. The first time I ever smelled a growing tomato plant was in their backyard and, to this day, that scent brings me back to them and Beaver Falls. RIP Uncle Jack and Aunt Joyce.

Condolences left by other guests:

I knew and respected Joyce and Jack primarily through National Ski Patrol and the EMS classes Jack so thoroughly taught. Joyce often came to our classes as Jack’s Girl Friday and I am sure she probably knew the course materials as well or better than we, his students. They would also skip a couple of weekends at Snow Ridge and ski with us at Juniper Hills…We so enjoyed their company and were so impressed with all of the volunteer services they provided throughout this area. They both went well out of their way to assist others - with a smile and encouragement all the time. RIP Old Friends and Thank You for everything I learned from you both…
