1963 - 2017

Gregory Geno Eliopoulos, 54, of Burton Road, Sackets Harbor, NY, passed away November 20, 2017, unexpectedly during a work accident. The family would like to thank James Burke for being with Greg during this time.

Greg was born April 2, 1963, in Watertown, son of Harry and Anne Geno Eliopoulos. He graduated from Watertown High School in 1981. On October 17, 2006, he married his life partner, Kimberly Lennox. On October 18, 2010, their marriage was renewed at St. Vasilios Greek Orthodox Church.

Greg was employed with the City of Watertown’s Waste Water Treatment Plant since January of 2007. Previously he was employed with Hi Lite Striping Company, Whites Lumber, 84 Lumber, Griffith Oil, Pal Energy, Eiss Brothers Auto Parts, Butler Fence, Jefferson Concrete, P&C, Knowlton Specialty Paper and Henderson Harbor Marina.

Greg attended St. Vasilious Greek Orthodox Church, was a member of CSEA and the NY Environment Association. Greg was a dog rescuer and he loved his dogs and family as much as his motorcycle. His dogs are Spot, Tiny and Snookie. His only one true friend, Sugar, died just one month ago.

Surviving besides his wife are two sons, Eric Geno, Evans Mills, PFC Bruce Eliopoulos, So. Korea, two daughters, Cristina Nichols and her companion Jason Clacks, Watertown, Autumn (Joshua) Adams, Black River, two brothers, CMC George “Ronnie” (Donna) Eliopoulos, Georgia, Nick Eliopoulos, Virginia, a sister, Christine Eliopoulos Keller and her companion, Ray Castor Watertown, his father-in-law Henry Lennox, Watertown, his brother-in-law Kerrell (Donna) Lennox, Sackets Harbor, a granddaughter McKinsly “Kiki” Clacks, several nieces and nephews including a special nephew, Jeff Eliopoulos, a special friend Del Nichols, and his godmother, Connie Cannellos Yanulis, Warners, NY. He is predeceased by his father Harry Eliopoulos, his mother Anne Geno, and his mother-in-law Violet Lennox.

There will be no calling hours. A private funeral service will be held at St. Vasilios Greek Orthodox Church. Burial will be in Sulphur Springs Cemetery. Contributions may be made toGoFundMe.com/Greg-Eliopoulos-Memorial-Fund. Condolences may be made towww.dlcalarco.com.

Our entire staff at our veterinary clinic (Valley Vet Clinic) were in disbelief when we heard the sad news of Gregs sudden passing. He and his family were part of our veterinary family. I first met Greg down behind Blue Seal Feeds riding dirt bikes together. Greg and I became dirt bike riding buddies after that and put many miles on our bikes together. Rest In Peace my friend, growing up we rode the wheels off our dirt bikes down in the flats.
After we graduated, I will never forget our 4WD Drag race down court street
The cops caught me in my Jeep and all they wanted to know was who was driving the big red Chevy Blazer!
