Frances A. Bleidorn

Frances A. Bleidorn

1947 - 2016

Frances Ann Bleidorn (Frankie), 69, died suddenly on October 6, 2016 at her home in Watertown, NY.

Born in Beloit, WI, on July 20, 1947, to Gilbert and Marie (nee Flynn) Bleidorn, Frankie was third oldest of 12 siblings.

She went on to raise eight children of her own in Chicago, then Mattoon, IL and finally Madison, WI.  It was in Mattoon that she organized the local La Leche League.

After working with Head Start in Madison for several years, Frankie retired and eventually relocated to help care for her grandchildren in Minnesota and, eventually, upstate New York.

Aside from her family, Frankie loved knitting, sewing, crafts, reading and animals.

Frankie was preceded in death by a daughter (Burkie), 3 siblings (Burkie, Mark, Bob) and her parents.  She is survived by three daughters, Teresa (Doug) Davis, Frankie (Robby) Szytz, Erin (Rob) Mason and four sons, William (Claudia) Piper, Mark Piper, Timothy (Kelley) Bleidorn and Benjamin (Sarah) Bleidorn, numerous grandchildren, one great granddaughter, and a bountiful family of brothers and sisters—all of whom loved her dearly.

Frankie did not wish for her family & friends to gather in sorrow, by funeral or wake. She instead wished for us to celebrate her life with us on Earth.

She will be cremated in NY and brought back to the Midwest for a gathering of family and friends in Minnesota on October 22, 2016 from 11-3pm at Broadway Pizza Restaurant 3420 129th Ave NW, Coon Rapids, MN 55448.

She is finally able to hold her daughter in her arms once again; she is truly happy.

Arrangements are with D.L. Calarco Funeral Home Inc. Condolences may be made to www.dlcalarco.com

Condolences left by other guests:

I worked with Frankie at Head Start and I adored her! She taught me everything I know about AODA! She and another friend came to my house and put my sons crib together and we worked closely together to provide our families with what they needed.  I personally saw her give a mom the tools to fight addiction! It was amazing to see this mom transform and Frankie went with her to AA meetings! She was incredible! I haven’t seen her in many years but I never forgot the wonderful things she did for me and others. Thinking of her family.
