To the family of Dr. Kuan,

I knew the good doctor only briefly, but he made a great impression on me. I enjoyed a high school student internship at the Samaritan Hospital’s laboratory, and the experience helped me decide to pursue a career in clinical laboratory science. In only one day, I learned so much about the science of pathology from Dr. Kuan, that I felt determined to train for a career in this field. While we were together, he also enlightened a visiting member of the hospital’s administrative staff of his work at the moment, which left two visitors well-informed of his work at the moment. He was a brilliant, clear and concise medical scientist who will be greatly missed by all who knew him closely.
